Chapter 103 Fart! It stinks!
This passage comes from the New Testament "Romans 13:1-7". "Romans" is a letter written by the Apostle Paul, the founder of Christianity, to the Christian Church in Rome.
In this letter, the apostle Paul explains in detail the core doctrines of the gospel, specifically the concepts of sin, redemption, grace, and righteousness. Through this letter he hoped to establish contact with the Roman Church and prepare for his possible future travels to Rome.
Contrary to the impression of many people, strictly speaking, Christ Jesus was not the founder of Christianity in later generations.
Paul could truly assume this identity because he was the first to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to non-Jews. Therefore, he was regarded as the "Apostle of the Gentiles". Nestorianism in the Tang Dynasty called him the King of Treasures.
He spent decades establishing churches in a large number of areas to spread the gospel of Christ in a true sense.
It was in his hands that the New Testament slowly took shape.
Thousands of years have passed, and the letters written by Paul in the past have become the basis for the priests in this era to promote their authority.
After the chanting, the priest said to everyone present with a smile on his face: "This is the holy word of God."
The people in the audience responded numbly: "Thank God."
These villagers did not understand what the priest said at all. They just followed the process of the mass as always, drifting in the darkness, losing their true spirituality and turning into soulless puppets.
Of course, the priests could not tame the villagers just by relying on the scriptures.
Therefore, after reciting the Bible, the priest has to speak and explain, connecting the scriptures with the lives of believers and helping everyone understand the profound meaning of the scriptures.
"Believers!" the priest said slowly.
"Today we need to know what authority is."
"The scripture I just recited is to let us know that all power comes from God."
"Those in authority are God's representatives on earth. Our lord, even more so. His rule is God-given, and his power as lord is unlimited!"
"His power as a lord is unlimited!"
The priest emphasized it again, and then let out a series of farts, praising Leonard and describing him as a unique Crusader saint in heaven and earth.
"Reynard is the sun! He is our great leader! The eternal lord! He will never make mistakes! Now that the Crusade is ready to take off, why shouldn't everyone here strive to be the first!"
"Deusvult!"
the priest shouted from above.
There were scattered responses from the audience...
Crusader zeal was already a naked burden for farmers like them.
For the farmers here, they had heard the priest's sermon dozens of times, and the Franks here actually knew what the priest was going to say next.
"It's not enough to pay taxes! It's not enough to serve!"
"It is your obligation to pay taxes! It is your bounden duty to serve!"
"Now Saladin, the evil king of the pagans, has evil plans for our kingdom and is eager to drive us away from this sacred land! He will rape us! Kill us! Sell us into slavery!"

"In order to prevent that sad scene from happening, everyone here should consciously work for the lord!"
"Deusvult!" In the manorial economy, land can be roughly divided into two types. One is leased to freemen or serfs, and the lord collects rent at different prices from those lands.
The other type is the allotment belonging to the lord or the church. The serfs need to work on the allotment for free every week, and all the output belongs to the lord or the church.
But among the peasants here, who can come to attend Sunday Mass, who is not a Frank! Who is not a free citizen!
The priest's words made it clear that he wanted to trick the free people present into doing the work of serfs.
At first, there may be idiots who are really enthusiastic about doing it, but as time goes by, such idiots also start to become numb.
But there are some things, once you get started, it's not that simple to push back.
Just like in the workplace of later generations, the greater the ability, the more work; the more capable you are of working overtime, the more overtime you work.
After the free people opened the door to working for free, things gradually became a routine and a tradition.
Anyone who refuses this glorious contribution is accused of refusing to shine for the cause of the Crusade.
After finishing his bullshit, the priest glanced at the many believers present, his gaze was like a greedy beast picking out people to devour.
"Last week! Some of you here are escaping your beliefs! Rejecting your devotion! People like this! They really don't know what gratitude is! They really don't know what piety is!"
"The Lord's kindness is blessed to you, and the lord's kindness is rewarded to you, but some of you don't want to make progress! You don't want anything in return! You just want to be lazy and live in peace! When the pagans come to kill you in the future, you will regret it too late. ”
"Are you worthy of the food you eat every day! Are you worthy of the lord's kindness! Have you ever fully repaid those kindnesses!"
As he spoke, the priest was so angry that he started pointing on the spot.
"It's just you, you didn't go to work last week, it's just you! And you!"
Garris noticed one thing. The people the priest pointed at were all the people who knelt down and cried to the housekeeper yesterday, including the Jacques family.
Obviously, these families had their own fields to cultivate, and in the absence of strong labor force, they simply could not spare anyone to do voluntary labor for the lord or the church.
It’s clear that they are bullying these families!
The priest paused for a moment, his eyes were blazing, and he shouted loudly: "I warn you, any family who is unwilling to make offerings, you should be careful. I have reason to doubt whether you are spies of the heretics! Are you spies of the heretics!" < br>
The sun is pale, the world is gray, and the stone pillars are like silent giants, supporting the towering dome.
The light came in from the dilapidated colored windows, but there was no color. Heavy shadows enveloped everything, and deep oppression was placed on everyone present.
The villagers listened like zombies, none of them felt real redemption and hope.
In this gray world, only the priest on the stage has color. His clothes are beautiful, brighter than gold.
He was the only one shouting loudly, standing on the highest point of faith, reprimanding the Lamb of the Lord in the name of God.
In this way, everyone was enduring it, until suddenly a young man stood up in the audience. He no longer listened silently to the priest's pointing, but instead shouted loudly.
"Fart! It stinks! How can there be such nonsense in the world as you!"
Second update, I’m going to have a bite to eat and will update another chapter before 12 o’clock
