What the heck is a fader.
Are the Faded Ones for the development of humanity?
If the Faded One is not beneficial to human civilization, is she still considered a human pioneer?
She never disclosed these conflicts to black people, nor did she tell anyone. I don’t know why I suddenly wanted to tell the chemist today.
"Now I'm starting to wonder whether I am a scientist or an executioner."
Qiao Nian didn't ask why she said that. She played with the Coke bottle in her hand. There were air-conditioning droplets condensing on the outside of the tin can.
A biting chill hit the place where her fingertips touched the iron sheet, but Qiao Nian didn't let go. She looked at Bethea indifferently and answered this pointed question.
"What you think you are is what you become."
"I……"
Qiao Nian raised a hand: "As long as a person is human, there is no time when she has no choice. Unless she is unwilling to make a choice."
Bethea smiled bitterly: "It would be great if everyone was as pure as you."
Qiao Nian didn't answer any more.
Bethea took a breath, suppressed the heavy thoughts in her heart, looked at the watch on her wrist, stood up and said to the girl: "It's very late, I won't disturb your rest."
"Yes." Qiao Nian stood up to see off the guests.
Bethea walked to the door and said, "If there's such a fuss tonight, why don't you come to the laboratory tomorrow? I'll ask you for a day off."
"Is it convenient?"
Bethea smiled: "Convenient."
Qiao Nian nodded: "Thank you."
Bethea raised her hand and touched her shoulder, retracted her hand and turned around to walk into the dark path...
Qiao Nian watched her walk away until she was out of sight, then she turned back to the house and closed the door.
...The lights in the room are warm and bright, and it is much cleaner without the uninvited people disturbing it, but the smell of those people still lingers in the living room.
Qiao Nian didn't like this kind of space that had been invaded. She bent down and cleaned it up briefly, then found air cleaner and sprayed it everywhere.
She made sure that the smell of strangers in the house was gone, so she went into the bathroom again, washed her hair, and changed her clothes again.
By the time she finished blow-drying her hair and walked out, it was almost twelve o'clock in the morning.
Qiao Nian was wearing a loose white T-shirt that reached her thighs. She didn't wear pants, and her two slender legs were well-proportioned under the clothes. She walked to the sofa in the living room and quickly assembled it from the messy parts that someone had dug out. Get out a tiny laptop and a cell phone.
She turned her phone back on and immediately saw that several missed calls were from the same person.
Qiao Nian lowered his head and replied to the man.
They seemed to be waiting for her there, and asked her if she had WhatsApp, and even sent her an account.
Qiao Nian logged into the computer, downloaded Whats, registered a new account, found the account he sent in the search bar, and flicked the friend request.
Pass there in seconds.
Then a video popped up.
Qiao Nian clicked the answer button with an annoyed look on her face.
The camera in front of the laptop buffered for a few seconds, and she saw the man on the other end of the video appearing.
He was in a brightly lit room on the top floor, not like the Rose Mansion, but more like a hotel suite outside.
"Why can't I see you?"
The man's voice was as clear as dust.
Qiao Nian could see him, and of course she saw his handsome face as he came closer to play with the computer. She didn't know why her throat felt itchy.
She picked up the water next to her and took a sip. She suppressed the electric shock sensation in her heart that was being stirred by feathers. She answered in a hoarse voice without any intention, "This notebook doesn't have a camera." (End of Chapter)
