Chapter 5 Death Roll
The biting cold wind howled, and the air was filled with the ubiquitous coldness.
Guo Mi shivered in his sleep and twitched his nose unconsciously, feeling that his nose was frozen.
She tried to wake herself up and opened her eyes. After a while, she found that it seemed like an illusion that she had opened her eyes. In fact, she was still asleep.
So I had no choice but to try to open my eyes again, but in the end it was just a cycle of the feeling just now.
This restless sleep not only did not allow her to get enough rest, but made her even more tired.
I don’t know how long it took, but her cold nose was suddenly covered with a layer of warmth. The warm feeling seemed to flow down her nose and throughout her body. Not long after she stretched her limbs comfortably, she suddenly felt a surge of warmth. Feeling suffocated!
Guo Mi thought it was a nightmare. He flapped his four paws and tried to struggle but to no avail, until he was forced to wake up in the end!
As soon as I opened my eyes, I was met with a pair of dark, beady eyes!
The other party's little paw was still on her nose. He was startled when he realized that she was awake. He quickly rolled and crawled into a pile of hay next to him, burying his whole body in it. , quietly watching her with another pair of beady eyes.
Guo Mi took a deep breath, looked at the vast sky with wide eyes, and finally sat up helplessly.
The bear's claws hit the ground hard, making a "plop" sound, and the two pairs of small eyes in the grass couldn't help but shrink back.
Guo Mi ignored them and just sat on the snow, licking his paws and shaking his fur from time to time, looking very leisurely.
After a while, the two guys hiding in the grass finally couldn't wait any longer. They were sparse for a while. The larger one moved cautiously and struggled to get out of the dead grass. He hesitated and came to Guo Mi.
Guo Mi said nothing and just glanced at her.
The little bear's hair suddenly exploded, the ears next to his face opened, and the whole little face seemed to expand in a circle.
Seeing this, Guo Mi chuckled inwardly.
These two little bears are relatively rare among polar bear cubs. Although the weight of the male bear will be twice that of the female bear after adulthood, compared with the timid and thin male bear, the sister Seems more independent and bold.
The little bear who just covered her nose with his paw is also her sister.
The little bear standing opposite Guo Mi looked up at the unfamiliar giant in front of him, and finally mustered up the courage to whisper:
"You promised us that you would take us to find our mother."
She paused here, with a hint of grievance in her tone:
"You have been asleep for a long time..."
After listening to her words, Guo Mi suddenly realized that she had been sleeping for so long? !
No wonder the two little guys were so scared but still had the courage to wake her up.
Looking at the icy and snowy land where it was already bright, this cold brown bear finally felt a little guilty. He lowered his head and whispered to the little fur ball in front of him:
"Follow me."
< br>As she spoke, she stood up first and moved in the direction of the female bear's body.
The little fur ball behind her barked into the grass, and the other little bear timidly poked its head out, then trotted out with its buttocks twisted, and followed her sister obediently.
Guo Mi’s thick paws landed on the snow, and he didn’t miss the sound of the little bear’s paws stepping on the snow behind him.
The size difference is so big that even if she deliberately slows down, the two cubs behind her still have to work hard to keep up with their short legs.
Guo Mi did not ask the names of the two little bears.
There is a saying in the human world that names represent bonds. From the moment you learn your name, a bond appears.
Without their mother, the two cubs have less than one percent chance of surviving in the Arctic.
Guo Mi was not prepared to bear the burden of these two little bears, nor did he want to be sad in the future. All she could do was try her best to avoid establishing a connection with the two little guys, so that she and they were just passersby to each other.
Getting closer to the place where the female bear’s body was, Guo Mi stopped.
This is a steep snow slope, and the body is at the bottom of the slope.
She stuck her head out on the slope and carefully observed everything below.
The cold wind overnight had completely buried the traces left by the male bear, and even the body was half sealed by ice and snow.
Guo Mi stretched his neck and tapped the tip of his nose, catching the lingering breath in the air.
Her sense of smell seemed to have been greatly compromised in this harsh environment. Apart from the smell of blood from the corpse, all that was left to her was a heart-breaking coldness, which forced her to spend more time sniffing.
Her hind leg was suddenly touched. Guo Mi lowered her head and realized that two little bears had gathered behind her.
The little body was hiding between her hind legs, and the two little heads were exposed and looked down.
Aware that Guo Mi was looking at them, the two little furballs realized that they had unconsciously broken through the safe distance, and hurriedly hid back in fear.
Guo Mi didn't speak and silently looked away.
She is now basically sure that there are only three bears in this place. It is safe for the time being, but how to get down is still a problem.
Looking around, I saw that they were all steep snow slopes. If you wanted to go down smoothly, you would have to take a long detour.
That would be such a waste of time.
Guo Mi slowly came to the side of the platform and stretched out his paw towards the steep snow slope...
The first two steps were very successful. His furry paws dug deeply into the snow and he quickly stabilized his body.
Guo Mi sprayed out a burst of white mist from his nose, then used his four paws together, carefully raised each paw, and began to step downward.
She just took four steps and everything went very smoothly. Just when she thought she could just walk down the snowy slope, something hit her butt!
Guo Mi's breath was stagnant, and before he could react, his body leaned forward uncontrollably. His eyes blurred, and the bear was buried head-down in the snow!
What followed was a death roll!
The body was like a ball, rolling down the snow slope!
During this period, she didn't think about using her claws to stabilize her body, but she soon discovered that compared to the solid land, the ice and snow in the Arctic were obviously much softer.
Every time she thought she could stop, the bear's claws always came up unexpectedly, and she rolled all the way to the bottom!
The fur on his body was already covered with a thick layer of snow. Guo Mi was so dizzy that he put one paw on the ground. Just as he was about to sit up, he heard the sound of two more snowballs rolling in his ears!
Then his head suddenly sank, and the little polar bear’s childish scream rang out!
Guo Mi held the little bear on her head and sat up expressionlessly. At the same time, she raised her paw to hold up the other rolling white fur ball that was about to hit her.
What else can you not understand now? These two guys are the culprits!
The two little bears seemed to realize that they were in trouble. The one held down by Guo Mi's paws looked at her with a pair of round eyes in horror, and its four little paws did not even dare to flutter. .
As for the other end, although Guo Mi couldn't see her, he could clearly feel her trembling above his head.
Guo Mi sighed softly, raised his paw to push the little bear off his head, and then pointed his nose towards the corpse:
"Your mother is there, go."
