Chapter 1544 Cultural relics that rewrite history

This world is often so magical, and the feeling between people is so wonderful. Sometimes Zhou Zhi can only classify it as the "aura" in mysticism.

For example, Mr. Wang and Mr. Qi are thousands of kilometers apart, but they feel like old friends at first sight. They are closer than their own children. They almost regard him as an old friend. They teach him to be patient and try their best, and trust him to help when encountering difficulties. Fu, half selling and half giving away his wealth worth tens of millions, is to find a worthy heir for his baby, and at the same time, he is afraid of putting too much pressure on him. It is not an exaggeration to describe it as loving and cherishing.

In the eyes of others, Zhou Zhi has met a noble person, and there are far more than one or two such noble people.

For example, the fourth cousin, the third generation of the Gu family, or the Li family of Hong Kong Island.

The people who left pagers were all elders, and many calls had to be answered immediately, so Zhou Zhi took out his mobile phone and started answering.

Most of the calls were just to express congratulations to him. Except for his fourth cousin and godfather, they actually did not understand the value of the three statues.

But the fourth cousin knew very well that this was an important achievement beyond the discovery of Xinmang stamping money. In addition to thanking Zhou Zhi for the calligraphy rubbings sent to him along the way during his inspection of the Three Gorges, he also reminded Zhou Zhi that the words on the enshrinement plate behind the statue Wei Bei's calligraphy was very exquisite and he asked Zhou Zhi if he had any high-definition photos and asked Zhou Zhi not to forget to send them to him.

At the same time, he also questioned Zhou Zhi's method of handling the statues, thinking that he was too greedy for merit and handled it hastily. Although the ramie-lacquered statue is said to be incorruptible for thousands of years, and the thoughtful treatment is correct, there is no room for mistakes in the archaeological work of rescuing cultural relics, because those precious treasures will not give you any chance to regret it.

For example, Dingling, which was excavated with great efforts, ended up causing irreparable damage to countless cultural relics. This led to the country’s decision from now on to exclude ancient tombs buried deep underground except for rescue excavations. If you can't move, don't move.

Of course Zhou Zhi could only accept the instruction obediently and said that he must pay attention next time, mainly because it was a spur-of-the-moment move. He himself did not expect that three extremely crude swallowing Bodhisattvas were wrapped with such important and exquisite three things. A statue.

This has indeed become another mystery in the history of cultural relics, just like the batch of porcelain unearthed from the Wang family vegetable garden in Jinyu Village, Suizhou.

Just over three years ago, when a farmer was digging a pit in the Wangjia vegetable field in Jinyu Village, Suizhou, he discovered a green and rusty copper bucket. Then in a pile of dark brown soil, he found There was a pile of blue and white porcelain.

The news quickly spread to the local cultural relics department. After rescue excavation, a cellar filled with porcelain was revealed. The layers of porcelain have different shapes and are stacked in an orderly manner. The number and variety of them are beyond people's expectations.

After counting, a total of 1,005 artifacts were unearthed from the pit, including 985 pieces of porcelain, including 600 pieces of shadow celadon from Jingdezhen, Jiangxi, 342 pieces of celadon from Longquan kiln, Zhejiang, and There are a total of 43 pieces of porcelain from Guangyuan Kiln, Ding Kiln and Yaozhou Kiln.

In the center of the bottom of this exposed cave, a jar with a lotus leaf lid was unearthed. There is only one reason for stacking this jar in the center of the cave - even if other porcelain is crushed, it can Ensure the safety of this porcelain jar.

After the jar was cleaned, it shocked the country.

First of all, the body of the jar is huge, and secondly, the lid of the jar is white and delicate. Most importantly, it is applied with plum green glaze, which makes the glaze color soft and elegant. The edge of the cover undulates like a lotus leaf. Looking from top to bottom, it looks like a lotus leaf floating in the wind, which is very beautiful.

Meiziqing variety was only fired in the Southern Song Dynasty, and very few survive. This celadon-glazed lotus leaf lid jar is one of them.

And it’s the biggest one.

The shape of the jar with lotus leaf lid has been considered to be a product of the Yuan Dynasty before. Therefore, this plum celadon lotus leaf covered jar is just like the statues of the Three Saints of Huayan that pushed the actual ramie statue from before the Sui Dynasty to the Northern Qi Dynasty. It also pushed the history of the firing of lotus leaf covered jars from before the Yuan Dynasty to the Southern Song Dynasty.

This rewrote the history of China's porcelain, and this cultural relic became a national first-class cultural relic.

So, why are there so many porcelains of excellent quality buried underground? This mystery has not yet been solved.

The most likely guess at present is that it is related to the Song-Mongolian War.

Relevant historical records show that during the Song Dynasty, Jinyu Village in Suining County was once the seat of the government office. Therefore, these treasures should have been hastily buried by local merchants before the Mongolian army broke into Suining Mansion.

The war lasted for many years, and it was estimated that the owner of the cellar would never have the chance to return to his hometown after fleeing. Therefore, these precious porcelains were buried underground for nearly a thousand years, leaving behind an amazing treasure for future generations.

It is completely unknown how the statues of the Three Saints of Huayan moved from Yecheng, the capital of the Northern Qi Dynasty, to Yiling. Yang Min was born in the Hongnong Yang family, and the Hongnong Yang family was the same in the Eastern Han and Jin Dynasties. A giant clan, the Yang Min clan was later destroyed during the Erzhu clan rebellion. However, because of its huge influence, after Gao Huan pacified the Erzhu clan, he gave a lot of posthumous gifts to the Yang Min clan.

In one sect, two people were awarded Taishi, Taifu, Prime Minister, and General, three people were given Taiwei, Lu Shangshushi, and Zhongshu Ling, and five people were given Pushe and Shangshu. , more than 20 people were awarded governors and prefects, and history said that "the prosperity of pursuing glory is unprecedented in ancient and modern times."

Therefore, both Zhou Zhi and his fourth cousin believed that the Three Saints should have wandered out of the Yang family temple after Yang Min was executed, but the subsequent history cannot be tested.

It can only be said that Xiajiang has been a battleground for military strategists in the past dynasties. It is not particularly unexpected that something similar to Jinyu Village in Suining County happened.

While talking about this, my fourth cousin was particularly interested in two pieces of his collection, the Jingdezhen Blue and White Dragon Pattern Lotus Leaf Covered Jar and the Plum Green Glazed Lotus Leaf Covered Jar.

These are basically Zhou Zhi's first two valuable collections, which were also collected under the guidance of his fourth cousin.

The characteristics of dragon patterns on Yuan Dynasty porcelain are very distinctive. The dragon head is smaller, the dragon head has no hair, the dragon neck is thinner, the dragon body is longer, the dragon limbs are thin and powerful, and the dragon toes are mostly three toes and four toes. , often supplemented by clouds.

Coupled with Suma Liqing’s hair color and smudged dye, which is bright and plump, and the composition is multi-layered but not chaotic, neither of them had any objections to the age of this porcelain.

However, the research on plum celadon was not so in-depth at that time, because it was so rare that even my fourth cousin could not be sure of it.

Therefore, as for the age of another celadon-covered jar, he only suspected that it was related to the collection in Jinyu Village, but it should specifically belong to the Yuan Dynasty and Southern Song Dynasty, but he only said that it needed to be studied.

Nowadays, with the publication of many papers that determine the age of the cultural relics unearthed in Jinyu Village, collectors of cultural relics in Sichuan have also gained a deeper understanding of Longquan celadon. In the past, they had puzzled the uncle and nephew, but now they also have got the answer.

Lotus leaf covered jars are not only found in the Yuan Dynasty. This proposition is solved, and the age issue of the jar in Zhou Zhi's hand is also solved. It has the same nature as the Jinyu Village lotus leaf jar - plum green in the Southern Song Dynasty. (End of this chapter)
