Chapter 44 Planetary Governor

Chapter 44 Planetary Governor

Compared with the energy that broke out when Lieutenant Colonel Avada rushed into the temporary command room of the relic room of the Karu City Church, even the raging wave of orcs roaring out of the jungle and rushing into Outpost Three was nothing.

Just the look in his eyes made the lone guard outside collapse to the floor in fear.

He then deftly "opens" the door with a power punch.

As he rushed in, there was a rumble and the wooden door shattered, debris flying dangerously in the air.

Planetary Governor Misom and Major General Nilom, who were in the command room, both had their eyes wide open and their faces were pale. They couldn't believe that their soldiers would "knock on the door" like this and were knocked to the ground by the energy that destroyed their positions.

The female staff officer was relatively strong and she got up quickly.

"Lieutenant Colonel Avada!" the staff officer yelled. "What do you mean? You almost killed someone! I will sentence you immediately."

"I don't seem to have killed anyone, Staff Officer," the Avatar replied.

Staff Officer Redwin had thrown off her long black coat and reached for her bolt pistol.

"Deliberate endangerment of the life of a superior officer. Article 416A of the Astra Militarum Disciplinary Regulations stipulates that the staff officer present shall immediately render judgment and impose the death penalty."

Commander Arvada didn't seem worried. "I am not the one who should be convicted, Staff Officer Redwin."

Commander Avada pointed at Planetary Governor Misom. "He is."

"What?" protested Governor Misom in his pitiful shrill voice.

Staff Sergeant Redwin said. "Are you trying to shirk responsibility?"

Avada was furious.

"You said we were just facing a group of space orcs and very few local orcs, didn't you?"

Major General Nilom replied. "Yes, that's how it is."

Avada asked. "Then have you heard the story of the ghost orcs?"

Nilom said, "It's just a legend."

Lieutenant Colonel Avada stared at the major general, "So, you don't know that the orcs occupying outpost three are the so-called "special operations boys"?"

Governor Misom said. "Orcs are orcs."

Avada said, "Those are not ordinary orcs. We have learned this lesson in karst. Ghost orcs are real."

"They are a group of special operations boys led by the current war boss One Eye. They are few in number but far more deadly than any orc I have ever encountered."

Staff Officer Redwin said, "I understand that you feel pain about losing soldiers, but I believe this can be regarded as an intelligence error due to magnetic field chaos."

Avada shouted. "I'm not finished yet, staff officer!"

"Major General Nilom, I have completed the mission you gave me. There are probably tens of thousands of orcs surrounding it now. Now, I tell you, we can't even leave this world because the orbital equipment is blocked by several evil orc engines. Watch!”

Nilom spoke, "I...um...I guess the situation...isn't that bad?"

Avada smiled, but it wasn't a good smile. "Major General, if this mission had achieved exciting results, do you think I would still be so angry?"

Avada turned to Planet Moff Misom's grumbles. "Governor, it's time for you to tell us, what did we encounter?"

Nilom said, "What's going on?"

the Governor whispered. "It's just that there are a little more orcs than expected..."

Avada shouted. "A little bit?! I saw almost thousands of them, and there are more heading towards the orc gathering place!"

"Their waaagh will kill us! And now we can't even evacuate here!"

Governor Misom shouted loudly. "This is impossible! There are not that many greenskins in my world!"

Major General Nilom said, "Lieutenant Colonel!"

"What's going on?"

Avada saw that Governor Misom was staring at him while he was talking to Nilom. Just as he thought.

At this moment, Misom's face immediately lost all color, but Avada continued. "We followed the traces of the battlefield to that place. In addition to the one-eyed orcs, there are more tribes joining."

The expression on Major General Nilom's face was enough to confirm Avada's statement, which felt reliable. "Is it an entire army?"

Avada replied. "Worse."

Avada immediately turned to Staff Officer Redwin. "Staff, our relationship is a little rocky, and I know you have no jurisdiction over a planetary governor."

"So I can't ask you to do too much here, but can you temporarily turn a blind eye to my transgressions?"

The staff officer replied. "That depends on your reliability."

Avada pointed at Governor Misom and said, "He knows the number of wild orcs here, but he has kept it secret from the empire."

"I don't know at all!" Misom stammered, "I, I, I don't know anything about orcs."

Avada cursed. "There are thousands of wild orcs in the jungles surrounding your planet's capital."

"Even the most incompetent and worthless cesspool of an Imperial world can report an accurate population of half or more wild orcs because they are not hard to spot."

Governor Misom said with shame like a man whose hands were stained with blood. "It's because of, ah, the planet's, you know, magnetic fields. It's hard for us to monitor, and... we don't know they exist."

Avada looked at the staff officer. "Can I?"

Staff Officer Redwin nodded, and Avada captured the planetary governor in an instant and within a breath.

He wrapped his modified hands around his throat and squeezed. The Governor made a sound like a frightened rat.

"Listen to me, you of this gentle world."

Avada growled. "If I grab your torso with a power fist like this and squeeze hard, your head will explode like a pustule."

The Governor was like a wet towel twisting in vain in the Lieutenant Colonel's hands, Avada continued. "Why don't you tell us about the wild orcs?"

"I don't know..." The Governor was still trying to break free, but Avada tightened his grip again, the servo roared, and Misom screamed.

"Okay! Okay! I know!"

Avada let him go. Misom rubbed his red neck. "Say."

The governor said tremblingly. "We've had several orc invasions over the years, and they always seem to come back."

"Every time the Orks invade and we think they've been driven away, they pop up again, either more Orks from space or an infection of wild Orks."

"My grandfather, during his time as Governor, claimed that he had fought off the last of the infection without Imperial aid, but when the wild orcs began to overrun again, he was clearly wrong."

"Every time we call for help, the Empire doesn't seem to care much about our planet. Our tithes aren't big enough to support the endless resources we devote to preparing for its next coming."

Avada said, shaking her head. "You kept silent about the orc infection because you were worried about money."

shouted the Governor. "You don't know what it's like to keep a world going."

"We are a garden world, and the empire has high demands on us, but if we are infected by orcs again and again, the empire will eventually give up on us."

"We decided to take matters into our own hands and, well... the lies just kept getting bigger and bigger."

"Until now, the orcs are everywhere, the city has been destroyed, and the tithe tax has shrunk. We have not waited until the Astra Militarum."

Avada turned to Staff Officer Redwin. "Can you drop the charges against me, Staff Officer?"

Redwine turned from Arvada to Governor Misom. "Yes, Lieutenant Colonel, very good. You are right, I have no authority over the Planetary Governor, but I do feel that this matter is indeed... worth it..."

Governor Misom pleaded. "No, no, no! Please don't involve the Inquisition."

"Shut up," Redwin said. "Failure to report orc infection is tantamount to treason."

Avada turned to Major General Nilom. "Sir, I know you have done a good job in clearing the Gondvar system of Orcs, but the actions of the Gondvar VI government have destroyed this effort."

"We have really big war bosses in the world right now, and it's definitely going to get worse."

"How could they be worse, Lieutenant Colonel?" Nilom asked.

"If we don't lift the lockdown, we won't even be able to evacuate, and if anyone realizes the reality, we will be..."

Before he finished speaking, a lieutenant walked into the room in a panic. "Sir!"

"The Navy said they won't try to resupply anymore, the losses are beyond imagination!"

Major General Nilom's face turned pale.

"Sir?" the lieutenant repeated.

The major general sighed and made a crazy decision in his heart.

"Lieutenant!"

"Yes, sir!" said the lieutenant.

he answered. "You answer them, the orc blockade will end soon, at..."

"Within a week!"
