Chapter 22 Bloody Punishment
Five hours later.
Flashing red and blue lights broke through the rain, sirens sounded, the black car turned smoothly, and its high beams hit the gate of the Hokkaido Police School.
A group of reporters gathered next to the mobile fence. They were wearing raincoats and covering their cameras with tarpaulins. They scrambled forward, trying to get past the obstruction of the teachers.
The driver lowered the window and yelled at them to disperse. Unexpectedly, a group of reporters gathered around him. Four or five people were lying by the car window, asking questions.
"Is there really a shooting at your school?"
"Is this revenge by criminal gangs against the police?"
"How many dead are there? Has the investigation of the case begun?"
The reporter who squeezed in first and yelled the loudest was a woman in her twenties and thirties, wearing rimless glasses. The pair of magnificent breasts on her chest were held up by the car window, and she restrained the driver for four or five seconds.
The latter looked down and noticed the work badge sandwiched in the ravine, with the other party's name printed on it.
"Intern Reporter: Momo Yazaki"
"Ms. Yazaki, please get out of the way and don't interfere with the police's performance of official duties..."
Before the driver finished speaking, he was interrupted by the other party: "So are you the criminal police from the No. 1 Investigation Section? Have you just received the notification of reporting the crime? Can you do a simple interview?"
The economy is in recession these days, and if you don't work hard, you won't be able to keep your job. Momo Yazaki doesn't care if she interferes with official duties. If she doesn't get a scoop this month, she'll have to pack up and get out!
"Are you kidding! Get out of here!" The driver impatiently honked the horn and swayed his airplane hair: "Believe it or not, we will arrest you for obstructing official business!"
Yazaki Momo was not afraid of this kind of detective who only spoke cruel words. She put the microphone to the driver's mouth while pressing her colleague's head and squeezing into the car seat.
Just then, she heard a crisp metal crash from the back seat.
Yazaki Momo turned her head and discovered that there was a middle-aged man in the back seat.
The other person had white hair, which was waxed and combed into an American-style back style. He had deep nasolabial folds on his face and was wearing brown translucent sunglasses. Through the lens, Yazaki Momo discovered that the man's left eye seemed to be blind, with only the white of the eye and no pupil.
There was another crisp click, and Yazaki Momo looked down, only to find that the middle-aged man was holding a police gun.
"Eh?" Yazaki Momo was stunned.
The middle-aged man rolled down his car window and fired a warning shot into the sky three times, which was deafening.
The reporters were shocked and stood stunned on the spot.
The middle-aged man motioned to the driver to drive, and the latter hesitated: "But there are people ahead..."
"I asked you to drive, can't you hear me?" the middle-aged man said, "I will be responsible if you kill someone."
Hearing this, the driver gritted his teeth and stepped on the accelerator, and the reporters dispersed in panic. Yazaki Momo fell to the ground, her face flushed with anger, and she shouted at the taillights:
"Are you violently enforcing the law? Believe it or not, I will file a complaint against you!"
The voice reached the driver's ears. He subconsciously glanced at the rearview mirror and reminded in a low voice: "Boss, the minister said that if you receive another complaint this month, he will transfer you to the police station as a patrol officer..."
The middle-aged man didn't reply. He raised his head and looked at the driver through the narrow rearview mirror.
The latter's heart was frightened. He slapped his mouth slightly and pretended to say to himself: "My tongue suddenly felt itchy and I was talking nonsense for no reason... It's raining really hard."
The water curtain clings to the glass, distorting the view outside the window.
Four or five minutes later, the car stopped in front of the auditorium. There was a yellow cordon around the place, and forensics class members arrived early. They were wearing raincoats and going around taking photos to collect evidence.
The driver got out of the car first and enthusiastically helped hold the umbrella: "Boss, we're here..."
"Use honorifics outside."
The middle-aged man opened the car door. He was wearing a gray suit and had a straight posture.
"Yes! Section Chief Kazama!" The driver stood at attention and saluted.
When the forensics class members heard this name, they subconsciously raised their heads and paid attention. They put down their cameras and whispered to their partners.
"Is it him? The ace of the Investigation Section, a police officer with a high crime detection rate and complaint rate..."
"It's him, Kazama Takusai, the head of the Search Section 1, who came in person..."
"Keep your voice down, don't call him by his name directly..."
Kazama Takusai had long been accustomed to criticism from others. He raised his head and glanced at the auditorium. He did not rush to enter, but stood by the roadside to observe the outdoor environment.
The driver kept holding the umbrella, and his arms became more and more sore. Seeing that the section chief was still not coming in, he wondered if the boss was standing at the door on purpose to pretend to be cool...
"Follow up."
Kazama Takusai changed direction and went around to the back of the auditorium. There was an argument not far away. He glanced at the second floor window first, and then looked at the two people arguing.
The petite girl begged: "Please, I will only take a look! Just take a look, and it will never ruin the scene!"
She didn't wear a raincoat or hold an umbrella, and her whole body was drenched.
"I told you no, this is not a place for you to play house..." The police officer saw the two approaching, and immediately stood up and saluted Kazama Takusai: "Hello, section chief!"

The driver took a step forward and scolded with a flick of his tongue: "Hoo la ho la! What happened? Do you need the boss to teach you how to evacuate idle people?!"
"I'm so sorry! Let her go now..."
Kazama Takusai took the umbrella from the driver's hand, stepped forward without hesitation, and helped the girl cover the rain. At the same time, he said to the police officer: "It's okay. You can go and be vigilant elsewhere."
"Yes!" The police officer quickly left as if he had received an amnesty.
The driver asked me where I am? Boss, what should I do if you take away the umbrella? The suit I'm wearing can't stand water!
He bent down and followed Kazama Takusai, sneakily trying to use an umbrella to avoid the rain, but was glared at by the latter, and just stood behind him in the rain.
"Are you a police academy student?" Kazama Takusai asked.
"...Yes." The girl whispered.
"What's your name?"
"Minamoto Tamako."
"Does the deceased have anything to do with you?"
"One is my instructor, the other... is my good friend."
"Why are you coming to the back of the auditorium? If you want to go in and check out the scene, you can only go through the main entrance, right?"
"The north side of the auditorium is attached to the school wall. If an outsider breaks into the school by climbing over the wall, he will definitely go downstairs through the window instead of risking jumping from the wall. So I think there should be clues in the second floor window. I plan to Climb up the wall and take a look..."
Kazama Takusai was slightly surprised. It was only at this moment that he looked at the girl seriously.
The latter's eyes were red, she must have cried... to be precise, she was still crying now, the tip of her nose was twitching slightly, but the tears were mixed with the rain and could not be seen.
"Want to go take a look together?" Kazama Takusai asked.
"Is that okay?" Yuan Yuzi bowed and said loudly: "Thank you very much!"
The three of them walked back to the main entrance. Kazama Takusai kept his distance from Minamoto Tamako along the way, but he tilted the umbrella towards Minamoto Tamako, which caused half of his shoulders to get wet.
The forensics class member pushed open the heavy door of the auditorium, and there was a harsh creaking sound, and the strong smell of blood hit his face.
Yuan Yuzi's eyes widened and she subconsciously took a step back.
In the center of the auditorium, two female corpses were sitting on the stage against the wall. Above their heads were solemn police badges and two dazzling words in blood:
——"Heavenly Punishment"
