Chapter 40 No Mouth
Early in the morning, Wen Wan walked out of the room with two dark circles under her eyes.
Shen Zhou was watering the flowers in the yard and was stunned when he saw her appearance.
"Sister Xiaowan, didn't you sleep well?"
Wen Wan was about to cry but had no tears. She felt a lot of things at the moment, and felt at a loss where she didn't know how to talk about it.
"Don't mention it."
Maybe it was Wen En's sudden hug that really shocked her.
She had nightmares all night. In the dream, one moment it was Wen En chasing her for a hug, and the other moment she was tied to a sedan chair inexplicably.
"By the way, where's Winn, hasn't he gotten up yet?"
Shen Zhou looked confused, "He's not in the room. I went to call him just now, but there was no one in his room."
Wen Wan paused, "Not in the room? Then where can he go?"
"How about I go look for it?" Shen Zhou suggested.
Wen Wan hesitated for a moment, "Let's search separately. It'll be faster this way. It's time to start dinner later."
The courtyard is not a big place. Shen Zhou went to the east and Wen Wan went to the west. After a while, he searched everywhere he could, but no one was found.
"He won't leave without saying goodbye, right?"
Wen Wan shook her head, "It's impossible. Yesterday, he was afraid that I wouldn't want him. How could he leave by himself today?"
Shen Zhou guessed, "Did he go back to the roast sheep shop? The boss almost beat him to death. He's not stupid, so he probably won't go back."
Wen Wan: "Are you sure you have searched everywhere?"
Shen Zhou thought for a while, "There is still a place, but no one should go there."
"Where?"
Shen Zhou: "The old stable. Brother Achai used to raise horses there. Later, those horses died of illness and the stable became empty. The stable is remote and almost no one goes there."
"Let's go take a look."
Wen Wan asked Shen Zhou to lead the way, and the two of them walked towards the stable.
In the distance, a loud "bang" was heard, as if something collapsed.
Her expression condensed and she quickened her pace.
Just after turning the corner, she saw Shen Yu sitting in a wheelchair with a gloomy face.
Wen En knelt in front of Shen Yu, and Shen Yu's hands were strangled around his neck. He was probably having trouble breathing, his face turned red, and the veins on his neck were exposed.
Beside them, Jin Mu was still holding up a long sword, the tip of the sword pointing directly in Wen En's direction. It seemed that as long as Wen En dared to move, he would take action without hesitation.
"Stop!"
Wen Wan rushed in front of the two of them, grabbed Shen Yu's arm and pulled him back, "Colonel Zhou! Let me go!"
Shen Yu's pupils were dim and he glanced at her, seemingly hesitating for a moment before slowly releasing his strength.
Winn was able to catch his breath, and couldn't help but choke after taking a big breath.
Seeing his uncomfortable look, Wen Wan's face suddenly darkened, she turned around and roared angrily:
"Captain Zhou, what do you want to do?"
Ever since they met, Shen Yu's eyes were always smart and playful. Even when he was angry, his cheeks were puffed out, as cute as a little squirrel.
He had never seen her so angry.
For a moment, Shen Yu was stunned.
"What do you think I will do to him?" Shen Yu stared at her coldly.
Wen Wan felt a little weak due to his eyes, but she said stubbornly:
"I don't know what you want to do, but I believe what I saw with my eyes! If I were a step too late, would he have died in your hands?"
"What did he do that made you want to kill him, Captain Zhou?"
"Or, the life of a slave is nothing in your eyes, Colonel Zhou, so you can kill him if you want?"
Maybe the scene just now stimulated her so much that she had no time to think and vented her anger all at once.
She asked questions one after another, making the light in Shen Yu's eyes dissipate little by little. It also extinguished his original urge to explain.
"Ha," Shen Yu rolled his eyes at her, "In your eyes, do I treat human life like this?"
Wen Wan pursed her lips and said nothing.
Shen Yu called out with a cold face, "Jin Mu, let's go."
Jin Mu looked at him and then at Wen Wan, "Colonel Captain..."
"I said go, can't you hear me?"
Shen Yu's sharp gaze swept over, making Jin Mu shiver in fear.
The general was really angry this time.
Jin Mu didn't dare to say any more and accepted the order in a deep voice, "Yes!"
Jin Mu pushed Shen Yu away.

Wen Wan looked at their leaving figures and couldn't look away for a long time. It was Wen En who pulled her sleeves that made her come back to her senses.
"Are you okay?" Wen Wan asked softly.
Winn shook his head and timidly pressed against her body.
Wen Wan was pretentious and didn't notice his little movements, so she asked again: "What happened just now? Don't spit out every word to me, I know you can speak normally."
Her expression was serious, which was very different from when she usually smiled.
Winn hesitated for a moment and then said: "They brought me here and asked me where I was from, what my name was, and what was the purpose of approaching you."
Hearing this, Wen Wan frowned tightly.
Winn: "Sister, I didn't approach you intentionally."
"I know."
He sighed softly and weakly. In the roast sheep shop, his desperate eyes could not be faked.
How can a person who doesn't even have the will to live have the heart to deliberately approach others.
She patted Winn's shoulder comfortingly, "Okay, let's go back."
"Yes." Wen En responded, holding her arm to stand up, and looking at her cautiously from time to time.
The more cautious he is, the more distressed Wen Wan becomes.
"Winn, don't be afraid. What happened just now is not your problem, it's because he was too suspicious."
Wen Wan helped him walk back, walked a few steps, and then stopped.
Winn was confused and looked at her in confusion.
Wen Wan said softly: "Wen En, actually... Captain Zhou is not a bad person. He may be just scaring you, and he probably doesn't really mean to kill you."
After calming down, she quickly understood Shen Yu's actions.
Just now, when she was angry, he was so stubborn that he didn't even bother to explain, so she lost her sense of caution in the heat of the moment.
Thinking about it carefully, if he really wanted to kill Wen En, there would be no need for him, a semi-crippled person, to do it himself. Kaneki would chop him down with a single sword stroke.
Win En didn't expect that after the scene just now, she would actually speak for that man.
His eyes darkened and he responded in a low voice, "Oh."
Wen Wan touched his head again and said with a smile: "We Wen En are the best behaved. How about I take you to buy delicious cakes later?"
Winn nodded, "Okay."
Wen Wan suddenly remembered something, "By the way, why did the stable suddenly collapse just now?"
"I pushed it," Winn said casually.
"Oh... hmm?" Wen Wan looked suspicious, "You pushed it? You have thin arms and thin legs, can you still knock down the house? Could it be that... you know martial arts?"
