Chapter 12 12: Photographing the mountain god and luring the snake out of its cave
Immortal means can be used to build a Dharma altar, perform fasting rituals, and relieve disasters;
It can also teach Taoism, ask gods to send generals, and confer orders on ghosts and gods.
The spell performed by Chen Jin was much simpler. Just the word "Edict" was used to let the "mountain god" possess the old wolf's body, which was like seizing the body.
It is called "The God of Photographing Mountains".
This move requires the consumption of spiritual consciousness, but it is worth it. Having an old wolf running errands and helping with hunting can save a lot of time.
For example, now, he can take some time off, sit on a piece of bluestone outside the temple, face the bright moon in the sky, and start to meditate.
The two fundamental methods of spiritual practice in the world are "acquisition and refining of Qi" and "visualization and induction".
Because of the differences in sect transmission, there are many different ways of cultivation and they are very complicated.
As a Taoist dharma, "Huang Ting Ben Jing" emphasizes "purity, strictness and clarity".
Therefore, it is said: If you think without evil, you can become the Yang God.
To achieve this step, you must abandon all distracting thoughts and delusions, refine your thoughts and purify them into spiritual consciousness and Dharma thoughts, so as to strengthen your body.
It's not easy.
It’s all because people’s thoughts are like a vast ocean, boundless. Once you have new experiences and encounters, it's like the wind blowing. Stormy waves will arise in an instant, and countless unpredictable changes will occur.
Compared with the "monkey mind and horse mind" of the Buddhist school, Taoism's sea of consciousness is countless times more grand and complex.
Therefore, in Taoism, there is an orthodox teaching of "The Supreme Being Forgets Emotions". The starting point is to cut off the seven emotions and six desires, and purify the mind and have few desires, so as to narrow the scope of the sea of consciousness and facilitate control.
This operation is similar to the Buddhist process of being ordained and becoming a monk.
However, what Chen Jin learned was different.
When I went to the mountain to learn Taoism, the first line of the Master's teaching was: "Consciousness enters the sea and becomes a fish, and the thoughts emerge from the water and the dragon calls for rain."
After understanding it, it is similar to the meaning of "the unity of heaven and man, and the same spirit."
This is different from the concept of "using one's own body as a boat to cross the sea of suffering".
There is no question of who is better and who is worse, it is just that there are three thousand avenues, each competing to travel.
Having said that, Chen Jin's soul is powerful, but his physical strength does not match it, making him "top-heavy." If he lets his soul fly, he will easily develop all kinds of wild thoughts and even inner demons. Therefore, it must be restrained and will not be abused unless absolutely necessary.
In the dead of night, when everyone is quiet, contemplating the moonlight is also to warm the soul.
Such a method is not the same thing as demons swallowing the essence of the sun and moon.
Speaking of monsters, the old wolf came back with a golden pheasant in his mouth. When it saw Chen Jin sitting on the bluestone meditating with the old god in his presence, its eyes showed envy and awe. It didn't dare to disturb him, let alone peek. It gently put down the prey, turned around and ran into the forest again.
When Chen Jinyun finished his work, he stood up and saw that the prey on the ground already included two pheasants and a fat wild rabbit.
“Well done.”
He spoke in praise.
The old wolf was very excited, sticking out his tongue and wagging his tail. He looked more like a dog than a wolf.
Chen Jin added: "From now on, I will go to the mountain and get it from the temple according to this amount."
The old wolf nodded repeatedly.
Next, it’s time to butcher the game.
The old wolf was very measured when hunting and did not dare to bite hard for fear of damaging the prey and making Chen Jin unhappy.
For tonight's trip, Chen Jin brought a lot of belongings with him and was fully prepared. First use a small pot to get water, boil it, and then remove the chicken feathers.
After a while of busy work, everything is done, and then we start stir-frying and cooking.
The pot is not big and can only stew one pheasant at a time.
At the same time, the fire was set up and another chicken was grilled.
Except for a little salt, there are no other seasonings, and the emphasis is on the original taste.
When the meat is cooked, eat it immediately. The deliciousness stimulates the taste buds and almost makes your tongue swallow it.
This was Chen Jin's most satisfying meal so far. As a true hunter, the old wolf was also given a few meaty bones and gnawed them with joy.
After solving the problem of eating, Chen Jin packed up with satisfaction and prepared to go down the mountain to go home. Before leaving, he said to the old wolf: "You have to be careful when you are on the mountain. You are not allowed to run around, let alone hurt others."
"Woo."
The old wolf nodded quickly, he did not dare to disobey any of Chen Jin's orders.
Chen Jin took advantage of the moonlight to go down the mountain, return to the house, put away his things, and then hung up the remaining big hare.
Fortunately, the weather is approaching winter and the temperature is cold at night, so raw meat can be stored for a certain period of time without fear of spoilage.
Then he took a nap, and in the morning, he got up early and carried the hare into the village.
Although it is still early and the morning light is dim, the hard-working farmers in the village have already gotten up one after another, without even eating breakfast, carrying farm tools and starting to work in the fields.
When they saw Chen Jin, they were surprised and couldn't help talking about it.
Someone couldn't help but ask: "Chen Shuchi, what are you holding in your hand?"
Chen Jin replied: "A hare."

"Where did such a big rabbit come from?"
"Picked it up."
"Ah, how did you pick it up?"
Chen Jin laughed and said: "This rabbit ran down the mountain and hit a tree stump on the hillside, knocking it unconscious. I happened to pick it up."
The farmer swallowed his saliva and said, "He must have been frightened by a wolf. I heard that an old wolf appeared on the mountain...Chen Shuchi, you are so lucky."
After a while, Chen Jin came to his uncle Chen Abu's house.
Chen Abu was carrying a hoe and was about to go to the fields. He was surprised when he saw Chen Jin: "Ajin, what's wrong with you so early?"
I thought something was wrong.
Chen Jin immediately repeated the joke about "waiting for the rabbit".
Chen Abu: "..."
My nephew is really lucky.
As the saying goes, "If you rely on the mountains, you will eat the mountains, and if you rely on the water, you will eat the water." If you live near the mountains, it is not unusual for game to be delivered to your door occasionally.
Aunt Chen Li came to take the rabbit, dropped her hands heavily, and asked in surprise: "Ajin, did you kill this rabbit yourself?"
Chen Jin nodded: "Not bad."
Chen Abu and his wife looked at each other, feeling even more strange. You must know that in the past, what Chen Jin always talked about was "a gentleman stays away from the cook", which means not cooking.
Unexpectedly, I would actually kill a rabbit today, and I did it quite neatly.
Chen Jin explained: "Today is different from the past. I have to learn to do many things. When I actually do them, I find that it is not that difficult."
"Okay, pretty good."
Chen Abu said hurriedly.
At this time, his daughter Chen Min heard the sound and came out. She was thin due to lack of nutrition, but had delicate features. When she heard about the origin of the wild rabbit, she blinked her eyes and said, "Why is this rabbit so stupid?"

Chen Li smiled and said: "If it wasn't stupid, we wouldn't be able to eat meat... A Jin, what do you want to do with this rabbit? Braise it in braise, or stew it in soup?"
Chen Jin said: "Auntie, you can do whatever you want, it's up to you. I'll go back to study first."
"Okay, when it's ready at noon, ask your uncle to send you a can to eat."
"Yeah."
Chen Jin said goodbye and left, walking on the road. After walking for a while, he suddenly felt something.
Behind him, a "tail" suddenly appeared.
Finally I couldn't hold it any longer. Is this snake going to come out of its hole?
