Summary of Volume 1
Volume 1 is finally finished. Thank you all very much for your continued support.
I have to say that writing books part-time is a very labor-intensive thing. Recently, because of my busy work schedule, I often type in the middle of the night. I feel exhausted and my hair has fallen out a lot.
Still subscribing and the score is rising steadily. Pudding's mood can be said to be both tired and happy.
The first volume of this book adopts the writing method of "double lines of light and dark". Two months before the book started, Pudding prepared a relatively detailed outline.
On the one hand, when I read books, I really like the suspenseful and reversal of the plot, the emotional explosion after the long foreshadowing, and the shocking feeling when the mystery is revealed in the grand layout;
But on the other hand, now There are a lot of online articles, and the pace is getting faster and faster. For new authors who have no reader base, if there are no attractive highlights and exciting points at the beginning, they will most likely be killed, and even signing a contract will be difficult.
In order to find a balance between personal preference and subscription performance, Pudding made a small attempt with the help of this volume.
The "bright line" of this volume is the protagonist's process of slaying demons and becoming stronger, in which "cultivation", "mission", "harvest" and "daily life" are alternately carried out, forming a relaxed and relaxed atmosphere. Cool writing rhythm.
The "hidden thread" in this volume is naturally the layout and plan secretly carried out by Kongxuan Sanren in order to be promoted to the Ghost King.
The "explicit lines" and "hidden lines" advance in parallel as the story develops.
During this period, "hidden lines" quietly surfaced many times, forming foreshadowing.
For example, the "rat play" in Chapter 64, the "books gnawed by rats and moths" mentioned in Chapter 71, and the treatment of the hunchbacked old man in Chapter 135 Hints of identity and strength, such as the discussion of "name" and cause and effect in Chapter 155...
And several larger events in this volume - the Lu family's haunted house, the Laoshan ruins, the Nine The disaster of the baby is also closely related to the "hidden thread".
Finally, in the last few chapters of this volume, the "dark line" completely comes to light, colliding fiercely with the bright line, and the suspense is revealed, forming a climax.
Pudding is quite satisfied with the first volume, and has basically written out the original plot idea. Compared with when it was launched, the average order has almost doubled. Of course there are many shortcomings.
First of all, I am not very good at writing big scenes of battles and disasters - Pudding, as a new author, has limited writing skills. It was very difficult to write the section about the Nine Infant Snake Demon, and I did not write it. Wanting that sense of despair that would destroy the world (maybe also because Pudding is too soft-hearted to bear to use the knife), in the end he could only delete a planned battle plot and enter the confrontation stage with Kong Xuan Sanren in advance. In this regard, I will need to read more books by great masters and learn more in the future.
Second, the rhythm of the long novel is not yet perfectly mastered. When a big event ends, the follow-up connection is not handled well.
For example, after the "Lu Family Haunted House" case, the protagonist came into contact with high-level things, and the emotional tone of the story also changed to a certain extent. Returning to Yishui County at this time, it is difficult to enter the relaxed and refreshing rhythm of alternating "tasks" and "daily life". It felt wrong when I wrote it, and I lost some information when I read it. In the end, two small cases were deleted to speed up the progress of the plot and regain the feeling.
Third, QAQ is not very good at pudding mathematics. In order to make the background of the story more realistic, QAQ checked a lot of salary and price data from the Ming Dynasty. In the process of learning from it, it made itself faint... so many numbers were blurred later. .
We should try to avoid these problems in the future and strive to write better.
The first volume is called "Don't Use the Hidden Dragon", which comes from the "Book of Changes" and is the first line of the Qian hexagram. It means "the hidden dragon will not display its talents for the time being", which is a metaphor for the early development of things. , although the momentum is better, it is relatively weak, so you should be cautious and not act rashly.
It matches the protagonist's situation, mood and "stability-seeking" behavior in the first volume.
In fact, after writing the first volume, Pudding really wanted to take two days off to sort out the follow-up details. Unfortunately, I ran out of leave requests this month due to illness and overtime work (crying), so I can only seize the time to continue. Wrote.
Will update normally tonight, please give me a monthly ticket by the way! (According to the previous commitment, one chapter will be added for every 400 monthly tickets this month, and the additional chapters will be carried out in October)
