Chapter 1092 Siege of Attica (4)
In Mathias’ world, deadly flames quickly jumped out from his fists and penetrated the enemy tanks. A traitor’s Leman Russ bore the brunt of the explosion, its armor turning from gray to red to white in an instant before vaporizing into a scalding, high-heat mist.
Other surrounding renegade vehicles were also involved in the edge of the explosion range. Their tracks were out of control and melted, and their armor plates twisted and flowed like wax.
The next second, the engine and ammunition depot exploded, and the exposed rebels didn't even have time to scream, bursting like water bubbles.
The melta cannon's fury was so intense that it created a large crater in the road, leaving a glassy ditch into which the other two Renegade tanks slid as they came to a screeching halt. Down, smoke billowed from their engines.
The column was also blocked between the wreckage of vehicles and the still-growing crater left by Mathias' shelling.
Madias's ears were ringing, his mind numb with shock.
He killed a group of heretics as easily as he crushed bugs under his boots, and the excitement surged and was unstoppable.
Madias was jolted back to reality when a cannonball passed through his shield and exploded in the knight's chest, shaking it.
The Scorpion Stinger rumbled in mechanical protest.
"Destroy the heretics!"
Not far away, Ofuer also roared, grinning like a madman while smashing the shells of the battle gun into the enemy's anchored tanks.
More Traitor vehicles exploded, trapping enemy infantry between the burning wreckage in front and the gluttonous fire that swept through the streets behind.
On Mathias's oracle, enemy runes are scattered in all directions, traitors breaking down walls and even trying to dig holes in the hot ground, in a desperate search for safety.
“Don’t let them scatter.”
Olga's voice sounded at the right time.
“Understood.”
Madias strode forward, looking over the top of the burning traitor tank. His logging gun began to move, firing large-caliber bullets into the trapped Ragged traitors in the streets.
Meanwhile, his melta cannon flashed again, igniting the remains of nearby buildings and wiping out infantry trying to escape through its interior corridors and rooms.
The steel bars melted, the masonry evaporated, and a large stone slab on the front broke, hitting the enemy's team like an avalanche.
In Mathias' apocalypse, other knights wreaked equal havoc, and the enemy's runes were extinguished like candles in the wind.
The strategic layout map shows that the situation is the same across the entire front. The ragtag Black Legion cannot match the knights, and thousands of people died as a result.
A small number of knights stated that they had suffered some minor battle damage, but it was nothing that the guardians of the relics could not repair. Level 3 sonic data flashed back and forth between the Astra Militarum, and they were preparing to deploy a force. A large-scale bombardment blasted a passage through the central area of the city.
Due to the long-term bombing, there are almost no roads in the city of Attica. As a bipedal machine, the knight is okay, but the tracked and wheeled vehicles of the Astra Militarum cannot drive in at all.
The fleet has completed their mission, and now the Imperial Army will clear the enemy's hidden bunkers and ground passages as much as possible.
As the last enemy runes disappeared, Mathias slowly backed the Firesworn back to the crossroads, observing the toll he and his comrades had taken.
"Is this what it means to be a knight?"
He murmured in awe, pride and excitement burning within him.
“It means death to our enemies.”
“It means responsibility.”
Olga's voice was calm, and few people could exert power like this without feeling anything. Mathias's heart pounded. The whispers of the machine spirits had turned into a din, indistinct but certainly congratulatory and filled with bloodthirsty excitement.
It wants to fight again, to feel the god-like power at its fingertips.
“Children, the area has been cleared and we are about to move.”
Grand Duke Olga’s voice sounded again, his tone sounded calm.
Astra Militarum armored vehicles were already in position, parked near the entrance to the block, while Cadian soldiers confirmed their orders.
“Come closer to me.”
Olga’s voice echoed in Mathias’s ears.
"We are going to move along Main Road 47 until we reach location 77-9-1. Mathias, I want you to take five steps back and cover the left wing. Offor, go in front of me. Four steps, cover the right wing, follow the rhythm, and let the Cadian take over."
"Stick up your spirits and pay attention to your thrones. We have been ordered to support the Dark Angels. I don't want to. I hope any of you can't keep up, it would be a disgrace to our family, a founding group full of history and honor."
Olga paused as she spoke, then her voice became deeper.
"The enemies we have to face are different from before, and you may have to face them at close range."
Then, all the knights received the same picture.
The next moment, Mathias heard exclamations shocked by the image now displayed.
The Emperor's Space Marines, even in holographic form, appear tall and formidable, yet this figure is not a model of piety, nor a champion of the Emperor's Light.
The Astartes' black armor had strange symbols scrawled on it, spikes and hooks protruding from his body, and on his shoulders was a screaming demonic face that was the face of the man whose appearance The most shocking aspect of it - the flesh is pale and covered with black blood vessels, the sunken eyes are shining with light, and a pair of long curly horns protrude from the abominable forehead.
"Chaos Space Marines, those who have sworn allegiance to the dark forces that attack our beloved Imperium."
Grand Duke Olga introduced with disgust.
"Some of you may have never heard of such a thing, and some may object that such an abomination cannot exist, or even that it is heresy to suggest such a thing So far, you have been allowed to look at the crimson scroll of data that has been loaded into the briefing list, read them, absorb them, believe them and fear them, and if you need to seek spiritual counsel, then all I can tell you is , this is a Space Marine traitor, an outcast cultist - they may have been loyal to the Emperor, but even Space Marines can fall, and this is the face of the enemy we face."
Mathias did know about the Chaos Space Marines. As the default family heir, he would often follow his father to the Chapter flagship to attend strategic meetings.
So not only was he not surprised, he was quite excited.
Killing a Chaos Space Marine is not the same thing as killing a mortal heretic.
The Machine Soul also rejoices in his urge to fight.
"Okay, let's go now."
"As you command, father,"
Mathias replied dutifully, striding up to his brothers as they drove the knight through the ruins.
This will no doubt be a long day -
