Chapter 1130 True and False
Everything, too real——
“Where am I?”
“What the hell happened?”
Evan was shocked and stood up in a panic, trying to figure out the situation.
However, Tommy didn't give him a chance and swung the wooden stick in his hand and hit Evan's chin hard from bottom to top, so that Evan's whole body was overturned.
Dizziness, blood flowing.
Tommy still wouldn't let go of Evan and continued to punch and kick him.
Lanny took the opportunity to run over and try to untie the sack that trapped Crockett.
But in fear, unable to be solved at all, Lanny couldn't help but cry.
"I can't untie it."
Hearing this, Tommy slowly turned around and looked over like a messenger from hell.
"Let go. Otherwise I will cut your mother's throat while she is sleeping."
Lanny was stunned, stood up, and carefully stepped back to distance himself.
Although Evan finally managed to regain his senses in the earth-shaking dizziness, he hugged Tommy's legs and tried to let Lanny save Crockett.
But Tommy continued to kick Evan in the chest, got rid of Evan's restraint, stepped forward murderously, and grabbed the burning torch in the fire.
“Listen, Evan, you better listen carefully.”
“There are thousands of women in the world, why did you choose my sister?”
>
With a ferocious look on his face, Tommy stabbed the torch directly at the struggling sack.
“No!”
That was a cry coming from the depths of his soul. Evan sat upright suddenly and kept flailing his hands, trying to stop Tommy, but found that he was in vain.
He is back, twenty years old again.
However, the whole person seemed to be fished out of the water, sweating profusely.
Evan doesn’t understand what’s going on, even though the girl he’s dating tonight keeps saying, dream, it should be a dream. Sometimes dreams are so real that they can’t help but be true or false; but Evan Remain skeptical——
Those pains were too real. He seemed to still be able to clearly feel the pain in his head and sternum, which was dull and heavy, making him breathless.
If it were a dream, would the pain be so real?
Evan decided to find out.
After seven years, Evan returned to that small town and found Lanny.
Lanny... became more introverted and silent. He seemed to have never gotten over the fear of those years.
So, when Evan asked Lanny if he still remembered what happened that afternoon, the afternoon when Tommy killed Crockett, Lanny, who had always been quiet, seemed to be possessed by Tommy, showing the devil side.
Word by word, Lanny said the words that Evan heard in the "dream" last night; it even turned violent, grabbing Evan by the collar and pushing him to the wall, viciously reenacting Tommy's behavior that afternoon. Everything you say and do.
Evan did not find the answer, but became even more confused.
After returning to school, Evan took out the box that was gathering dust under the bed and began to look through the diary he had recorded.
Picking out a book at random, it turned out to be the day they stuffed the detonator into the mailbox. Along with those words, the memory of that afternoon came back to my mind.
Then something magical happened——
Evan opened his eyes again. He was indeed standing in the forest, standing opposite the neighbor's house with Caleb, Tommy, and Lanny, waiting for the detonator to explode.
What's going on?
Evan looked around, his mind full of questions. Because he was so surprised, shocked and confused at the same time, even if the cigarette in his hand fell into the folds of his T-shirt, he didn't realize it at all. He was just trying to figure it out. Understand:
Is this a dream? Is this what happened after he was cut off?
This time, Evan finally "saw" the process of the mailbox explosion that afternoon. The detonator did not explode for a long time, and there seemed to be some problem. Just when Tommy pushed Lanni forward and asked him to check it out, the hostess of the next door neighbor drove back, and Tommy pulled Lanni back.
The hostess got out of the car and took the little baby out of the baby seat. As she was about to enter the house, she suddenly remembered that she had not picked up the mail.
So, go and come back.
Evan only felt a burning sensation, and then he realized that the cigarette butt had been in the folds of his clothes, burning through his T-shirt and burning a wound on his belly.
However, Evan did not have time to treat the wound, because across the street ahead——
The hostess, holding the baby in her arms, opened the mailbox.
Buzz.
There is only a roar left in the whole world, stretching above the eardrums.
Evan, Keller, and Tommy turned around and ran away, but Lanny was so frightened that he froze in place, unable to move, as if his soul had run away.
H.
Taking a sharp breath, Evan woke up from his "dream" again, but his beating heart could not calm down at all.
My stomach felt turbulent.
Evan was lying on the edge of the bed, vomiting wildly. It was hard to describe whether he was afraid or anxious. He even vomited out all the bile.
He doesn’t understand.
Turn over and lie back on the bed, Evan pulled up his clothes and looked down at his belly——
A burn scar.
He was very sure and certain that this scar did not exist before.
But the point is that Evan doesn’t believe in himself, or in other words, he doesn’t believe in his memory.
But how should this be explained?
Evan tried to contact Lanny by phone again to confirm some details; however, he was rejected.
Apparently, after his visit yesterday, Lanny was also in pain. Lanny's parents struggled for a long time and they refused to allow Evan to have contact with Lanny again.
After hanging up the phone, Evan thought of another solution: his mother.
Evan specifically invited Andrea out for dinner and began to gossip about his father.
It can be known from the fragmented information that many of Evan's symptoms were inherited from Jason.
Back then, Jason also had memory fragments; but Jason was a smart man with excellent grades, so Evan was curious about whether Jason had found a way to restore his memory.
Andrea hesitated to speak, as if something had happened that year; however, she thought Jason might be crazy, because not long after that, Jason was admitted to a mental hospital, and she still could not distinguish between those so-called memories. Was it something that really happened, or was it Jason's imagination.
So, she didn’t want to mention it in front of Evan, but she swallowed the words that were already on her lips.
Evan kept asking questions. In order to perfuse her son, Andrea deliberately changed the subject and dragged Evan into an astrologer's store opposite the restaurant.
At first, things were interesting, because Evan didn't believe it at all and kept talking nonsense, and Andrea was made to smile; but things soon lost their fun.
“He has no soul.”
"He should never have come into this world."
The astrologer said.
This made Andrea's expression change and she left the table angrily. On the contrary, Evan was confused and hurriedly chased her out.
From afar, Evan noticed that his mother, who had already quit smoking, actually asked a stranger for a cigarette, lit it, and started puffing away.
Evan can’t understand. He doesn’t believe in astrologers at all. He believes that they are just deliberately alarmist just to get customers to spend money to eliminate disasters. There is no need for Andrea to ruin her life because of the astrologers’ nonsense. I'll be in a good mood all day long.
But unexpectedly, Andrea told a secret, a secret that Evan never knew.
