It’s my birthday today, please take a day off

October every year is always a lively time in our house, with National Day, Mid-Autumn Festival, and birthdays.

There are about 4 to 6 people in the family who celebrate their birthdays this month. Why the number varies? It’s because of the lunar calendar and the Gregorian calendar. In short, our family likes to have birthdays in this month. Maybe it’s because of the Gregorian calendar, maybe it’s because of the lunar calendar.

Today is special. My wife and I have very close birthdays. The Gregorian calendar is only a few days apart, and the lunar calendar is only a dozen days apart. So we usually choose the weekend between two birthdays or the weekend closest to each other, and cook it in one spoonful.
