Chapter 1000 Is it useful to pray to God and worship Buddha?

Chapter 1000 Is it useful to pray to God and worship Buddha?
After a new host is elected, there will usually be a process similar to an appointment ceremony. This ceremony is not for solemnity, but to tell the pilgrims who often come to Jingci Temple to offer incense that we have a new person as the boss.

Logically speaking, this requires informing important pilgrims one by one, choosing an auspicious day, and making careful preparations, but don't forget, the princess is still here.

When a princess comes to the temple, it is indeed a blessing. The problem is that this princess is very unusual. Especially after witnessing the election, the princess had to go to the Tibetan Scripture Pavilion to have a look, and almost knocked over the candlestick. …

The whole temple agreed that it was better to send the princess away first.

So the new host did not rush into the appointment ceremony, and finished the prayer ceremony requested by the princess, and started doing it the next day.

The so-called blessing ceremony actually looks like a large group of monks chanting sutras, which lasts for a whole day. During this period, they abstain from water and fasting to show their piety, and it does not end until sunset.

Although Princess Mingzhu was not a participant, the ceremony was held at her request. She couldn't eat and drink there while others chanted sutras, and she could only shake her head along in the front row.

——It feels like the princess has begun to regret it.

Yang Yiyi was looking outside the hall, but she didn't need to follow him in.

After all, no matter what the personal relationship is, the gap in status is still very obvious.

Next to the princess are Li Yingluo and Zheng Yinping, and behind them are a bunch of guards. Yang Yiyi and Wu Shaoyi are not qualified to enter.

It was only at this time that we clearly realized that this was a feudal society with distinct classes.

However, Wu Shaoyi was not next to Yang Yiyi. The girl might be interested in the conchs used by the monks, so she went to the group of monks who were "accompanying" to observe.

So Yang Yiyi was left holding the pillars of the hall and looking inside.

"Brother Li, do you think worshiping Buddha is useful?"

"Huh? Why do you ask this?"

"Having put down the hatred for nearly forty years, and then picked it up again because of a trivial matter, does it mean that it has never been let go from the beginning?"

"If you want to say this, then I can only say that it is useless. It is useless. Especially worshiping a statue with a golden body made of clay is of no use."

Li Chengqi said lightly:

"You say that my Buddha is compassionate, but if my Buddha were truly compassionate, there shouldn't be so much suffering in the world. In the final analysis, Buddhist teachings are just written by people. You can't ask too much from a non-existent virtual idol. So I I don’t think Buddha can save the world.”

"What about an immortal like you, Brother Li? Is there any way to save people?"

"No, I can tell you clearly that it doesn't exist. There is no way to transform in this world."

Li Chengqi is a god, a god who clearly exists and can perform miracles and create miracles.

But precisely because he is a god, he understands that things like so-called scriptures and Dharma are purely to fool ghosts.

If nothing else, let’s take a look at how Li Chengqi’s teachings came about.

Reading the original text of the Tao Te Ching, Viola and the others would understand it as they wanted. As long as it was not too outrageous, Li Chengqi didn't even ask. Even as the number of followers of the Demon King's Cult gradually increased, many self-interpretations of Viola began to appear. The scriptures they have interpreted will develop and branch into more sects. Even if there are some unreasonable or contradictory parts, they will be interpreted in their own way.

There is a great Confucian who can interpret the scriptures for me.

It's not just Li Chengqi who doesn't care. Basically all the gods don't care about such trivial matters as mortals' interpretation of scriptures. Again, as long as it's not outrageous, you can interpret it as you like.

For example, if you interpret the teachings of the Good God as the operations of the Evil God, it is basically acceptable except that it is so outrageous.

This is because for gods, scriptures are nothing more than a way to fool mortals, used to attract believers, and at best, they are a way to express their own principles and attitudes.

If scriptures are not needed to attract believers (such as Li Chengqi), God will not even make any mess at all. The so-called religious scriptures are actually all written by mortals.

Yang Yiyi may have been inspired by recent events, and similar things are not uncommon. She saw people who had practiced Buddhism for decades, and even though they said they had given up, they still turned into demons because of trivial matters, and began to have doubts about the so-called Buddhism.

Even the immortal said that there is no way to save people, Yang Yiyi felt a little disappointed.

"Then, what can save people?"

"Own."

Li Chengqi said: "If you are confused, just think about what I told you before. As the saying goes, a gentleman should constantly strive for self-improvement. It is nonsense to expect gods and emperors. Only by self-improvement can people overcome themselves. The so-called Cultivating the Buddha is actually cultivating the mind. After all, the Buddha does not exist, but the Buddha also exists in the human heart.”

Yang Yiyi stared in confusion and asked:

"Don't you have anything specific?"

"Simple, conscience is the word. Touch your own conscience when something happens. Besides, in my opinion, that fantasy is not a demon. If revenge can make his thoughts clear, that would be good."

Li Chengqi's view on the whole matter is very neutral. You say you put down the butcher's knife and become a Buddha immediately, but if it is really that simple to become a Buddha, this Buddha is not a serious thing.

If you want to lead people to be good, you can, that’s great. But you can’t stand on the high ground of morality and export it to the outside world. You can naturally talk nonsense about things you haven’t experienced and it doesn’t concern you. If it really comes to you, it will be a boomerang.

It is natural for Xuan to want revenge, especially in Li Chengqi's view. He even felt that the method of revenge was too mild. If it were him, he would not be able to let go for forty years, nor would it be so simple. He would definitely use all possible means.

Originally, this matter should have been resolved a long time ago. If Xuan Xiang had talked about the matter and resolved it when he first entered the temple, naturally there would be no such thing.

If you let people let go of things they have never experienced, they will believe it, but they will never really let it go.

After all, you can't empathize when you say this. No matter how strong your empathy is, if you haven't experienced it, you haven't experienced it. To say you understand is just self-deception.

Isn't this moral kidnapping to use suffering that I have never experienced to demonstrate my noble moral character?

It's like saying that killing one person can bring peace to the world. Choose between human life and the overall situation.

Deliberately put asymmetric choices on the scale, let most people choose, choose which one has more weight, and then you jump out and use your own morality to weigh on the lighter side, so that the scale can return to zero.

In this way, you can show your moral integrity.

This metaphor may be somewhat inconsistent, but it is also Li Chengqi's attitude towards moral issues.

Leave me the fuck alone. I have my own legal constraints when I break the law. I don’t need you to point fingers.

This is why Li Chengqi never cares whether Yang Yiyi wants to be a hero or a devil. It doesn't matter to him.

So regarding this matter, Li Chengqi thought that what Xuan wanted to do was absolutely right. If he hadn't used the moral high ground of Buddhism to suppress him for forty years, he wouldn't have exploded at this time. He insisted on delaying the matter that should have been resolved long ago. Until now.

However, the moral values of Yang Yiyi and Li Chengqi are obviously different, but Li Chengqi is right. It is better to save yourself by yourself than to expect some weird thing to save people.

"Do you have a conscience..."

Yang Yiyi was thoughtful and seemed to be thinking.

When Li Chengqi saw this, he felt that he had to change the topic, otherwise this girl would easily get into trouble.

"Stop touching it, it won't get bigger no matter how much you rub it."

"..."

What I said before is very good, but the last sentence is unnecessary...
